US Coast Guard Says Missing Titan Submersible Imploded Near Titanic Wreckage | Titan News Update

Missing Titanic sub crew believed to be dead after 'catastrophic implosion'.

The tail cone of the Titanic-bound submersible was found approximately 1,600 feet from the bow of the historic shipwreck on the sea floor, the US Coast Guard said Thursday. Officials said it was consistent with a "catastrophic loss of the pressure chamber."

Tour company OceanGate Expeditions said it believes the five passengers on board the missing sub have died. They were Hamish Harding, Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman Dawood, Paul-Henri Nargeolet and OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush.
