#BREAKING: SLED has announced that the death of Stephen Smith is now considered a homicide. Smith's body was found near the Murdaugh family property in 2015 with signs of blunt force trauma to his head.
Smith was a nursing student and attended school with Alex Murdaugh's son, Buster.
