Putin Orders ‘Special Control’ of Ukraine Border After Drone Attacks
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday called on the country's main security agency to take "special control" of Russia's border with Ukraine.
He also called for a "barrier in the path of sabotage groups" allegedly smuggling weapons across the frontier, hours after a reported spate of drone attacks targeted the country's west and south.
Putin did not explicitly reference the attacks in his remarks, made during a meeting with the leadership of Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB).
Putin also called for a strengthening of Russia's counterintelligence claiming Western special services had "now thrown additional personnel, technical, and other resources against us. We must respond to it accordingly."
