One exercise made Shaq an insane athlete and you won’t believe what it was! At 13 years old Shaq was living in Germany on a military base for his step father’s job. Shaq had zero confidence because he was a terrible basketball player and he was told he would never be anything and he should just join the military like his step dad. But then something happened that changed Shaq’s life, LSU head basketball coach, Dale Brown, came to the military base to speak. Shaq went to the speech hoping he would learn something but then something crazy happened. When Dale Brown saw Shaq he couldn't believe that Shaq was already 6 foot 9 inches tall at the age of 13. Dale didn't care if Shaq wasn't athletic or didn't have confidence because he believed he could teach Shaq one simple exercise that would change his life. Even though Shaq struggled playing college basketball at first, he said doing 1000 calf raises every night made him unstoppable because his vertical leap increased to 2.5 feet above the rim.
