I Give Up… Healing Can’t Be Fixed In D&D (Why Spells Are Bad On Purpose)

From a game design perspective, I have come to believe healing in 5e can't be fixed without a ground up rework of the entire system. Yes, we can tweak our encounters to maximise or minimise the value of healing, encouraging whatever player experience your players want, but at the end of the day, maybe it's a better experience of 5e to stay simple and have players focus on avoiding damage and dealing it.
