How Ukraine turned Russia’s Bakhmut trap on its head | Defence in Depth

For months now, we have seen the city of Bakhmut under siege, with assaults spearheaded by the infamous Wagner mercenary group.

Led by the thuggish financier Yevgeny Prigozhin, it is in Bakhmut that his forces planned to outdo the regular Russian armed forces and disgrace Russia’s defence minister Sergei Shoigu.

In today’s Defence in Depth video analysis, associate editor Dominic Nicholls describes how Ukraine has also witnessed the power plays going on in the Kremlin, and have sought to take advantage to send the Russian house of cards tumbling down.
