Financial assistance / stipends / reimbursements for foster parents

I get this question a lot! In my experience, the expenses even out over time, but if I have many kids move in and out quickly over a short period of time, then I am paying out of pocket.

Start up costs usually include:
- welcome kit
- full wardrobe + shoes
- new toiletries
- new bedding + wall decals for room personalization
- daycare

I do also experience a lot of food waste at the beginning as I’m learning what the child likes.
