CAT Skid Steer Maintenance

Time to do a little maintenance on the skid steer.
I’m gonna change both the cabin filters and the engine air filters.
I start by removing this cover on the left side of the machine.
This filter lets in fresh air from the outside for the heat and ac system.
Because it was so clogged there was almost no air coming out of the vents when I’m running the AC.
Next, I’m going to change out the inside cabin filter- this filters the air that’s recirculated inside the cab.
Now I’ll change out the engine filters.
I start by removing the cover.
This machine has both an inner and outer air filter.
First, I take out the outer filter.
Then, I use a damp rag to wipe away dust in the housing before removing the inner filter.
These are radial seal filters, so they just push into place.
The lid is also a dust ejector- it swirls the air around, catches the dust, and drops it out of this vent in bottom.
This machine is over 10 years old, and it’s been super reliable. Let me know in the comments if you’d like me to do a full review on it. @hausplans
