I've been tracking my calories for years now, so here are some calorie tracking tips PART 5 📝

MEAL PLANS

Tracking calories is great because it gives you flexibility to eat the foods you want to eat… majority of the time.

But sometimes it’s just easier to eat the same thing every single day. 

Writing and following a meal plan for yourself ensures you’re consistently hitting your nutritional targets and it’s just so much less time spent thinking about what you’re going to eat.

But then let’s say on the occasion you wanted to fit something else in or change a meal, all you'd need to do is alter or remove one meal, and majority of the time, I find that that’s enough to fit whatever it is I want to fit while only needing to adjust the portions of the other meals very slightly! 

What I do recommend is that if you do follow a meal plan, learn how to write one yourself and make sure that it suits your lifestyle and includes the foods you enjoy. 

Because if you want long term consistency with your nutrition, it comes down to the sustainibility of your diet. If you're not enjoying your diet, how can you stick to it over a long period of time? 

Tracking calories isn't for everyone, and there are many diets out there. But for me, the fact that I have the flexibility to eat whatever I want while being on top of my nutrition just by sacrificing a little bit more time to weigh and calculate my food - that is what is sustainable for me long term, and that is the diet I am able to stick to.
