Bullied Horse Rescued 🥹

After we got a call from a worried couple about their senior horse with a severe back injury being bullied, co-founders Ellie & Jay drove all the way to Colorado to bring Marley home to The Gentle Barn's California sanctuary. When they arrived home, this sweet, gentle horse walked in like he was always meant to be here. He splashed in his water, ate hay, rolled in his bedding, and allowed Jay to pick his feet and brush him.

Marley will spend the next few weeks getting to know each horse and donkey individually. So far, our matriarch Bonnie already adores him ❤️ He's off to a great start, but he'll need lots of TLC. He has an injured back from being ridden harshly by a trainer, and because he struggled to get to food and water at his boarding facilities, he's thin. We'll be making sure he gets lots of organic hay, fresh water, Sun Chlorella algae superfood, Jill and Joan CBD, Puremedy healing salve, acupuncture, massage therapy, bedtime cookies, and more. He'll never worry about getting access to all the things he needs again!

There are many firsts that Marley will get to experience at The Gentle Barn. Thank you for supporting us so that we can say yes to animals like Marley and give them the rehabilitation, care, love, and life that they deserve!

The Gentle Barn is a non profit animal sanctuary with locations in Los Angeles, CA, Nashville, TN, and St. Louis, MO. We rescue neglected and traumatized animals from all circumstances, we rehabilitate them, and when they're ready we partner with them to heal people with the same stories of trauma. We rescue cows, horses, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys, peacocks, emus, llamas, donkeys, and more. Our mission is to show people the love and magic of animals by sharing their stories and how living a gentle life can help heal animals, humans, and the world.
