So we start with the remnants of some ancient structure or temple. I have a few theories on this. One, this could simply be an old Jedi temple that the empire destroyed.
Doug:: But that doesn’t look like the Jedi temple on Coruscant.
Well, there were different kinds of Jedi temples. The one on Coruscant was at the galaxy's center, so it was large and regal. The original temple on Acho-To was the first, so its stone huts. But in the show Rebels, we frequently go to a Jedi temple on Lothal, which was buried underground. The temple also contained an important mural I’ll discuss later–and that mural contained similar circles and lines that we see in this column.
These circles are also similar to the insignia of the Chiss.
Scoots: what’s a Chiss?
So the Chiss is this race of blue-skinned, red-eyed aliens that live in unknown regions of the galaxy. This is an area of space that is very, very hard to get to–remember Rey needed a special star path to get there in Rise of Skywalker. The Chiss have a massive armada, but they mostly keep to themselves. Except for one very important Chiss that I’ll talk about later on.
Ahsoka appears from the mist, like frickin’ Yojimbo. Very similar to how showrunner Dave Filoni paid homage to this classic Kurosawa shot in the Mandalorian season 2 episode, the “Jedi.”
She narrates, [“somethings coming.”] Now, all through the Mandalorian, we’ve been talking about how the show seems to be showing us the rise of the First Order, and how this happened [somehow…]. But here’s the thing, the first order supposedly came from unknown regions. So for them to rise, and for Palpatine to build his fleet, then there needs to be a power vacuum in that region of space. And that leads us to Thrawn.
Scutes: what’s a Thrawn?

Doug: Wait, I’m still confused. Who are all these people?
All right, well let me give everyone an explainer of who Ahsoka Tano is, and her history.
Okay, now back to the trailer, and more specifically these columns on the temple. So Ezra was able to save Ahsoka because he entered a gateway through a mural inside a Jedi temple. The circles on that mural are very similar to the ones we see on the columns and throughout these ruins. You could even say they’re a map of the gateways inside the world between worlds.
Remember, Ahsoka spent a lot of time in this place, which allowed her to observe any place and time in history, and gave her a much deeper connection to the force [lcip, her staying in rebels].
The center of the ruins shows a large circle, and these are often at the center of the Jedi site of power. The Jedi council’s chamber had a circle on the floor, as did the first Jedi temple with the mosaic of the prime Jedi. The layers of circles are also similar to the gateway into the world between worlds.
If this was a Jedi temple, then the empire would have destroyed it after Revenge of the Sith. As Vader and the inquisitors were hunting Jedi, the military was also traveling throughout the galaxy to destroy Jedi outposts.
How did they find the Jedi temples?
Anakin told them.
