Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was asked by a voter during the televised town hall portion of his “Conversation with the Candidate” event about how he’d defeat former President Donald Trump in the Republican presidential primary. Christie responded, “Go right at him. There’s no other way to do it.” Christie then spoke at length about what he perceived as failures of Trump’s presidency, including failing to repeal and replace Obamacare, failing to construct a southern border fence and failing to balance the federal budget. Furthermore, Christie knocked Trump again for allowing family members and people in his orbit to enrich themselves during his term in office and also mocked him for his casino’s bankruptcies.
