James runs up to Shannon Sharpe and hugs him after Lakers beat Hawks

James, 38, scored 25 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds in 33 minutes of action. He now needs just over 450 points to surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the league's all-time leading scorer.

Sharpe has been adamant about wanting to be present for the game in which James breaks the record and makes history.

By Sharpe's calculations, James needs about a dozen more games to surpass Abdul-Jabbar, but he'll likely do so February 9 at home against the Milwaukee Bucks.
