Dustin Poirier Talks Jumping Guillotines

Former UFC interim Lightweight champion Dustin Poirier is famous for his elite striking, but he's also know for his interesting approach to defending takedown attempts. At times, Poirier would rather jump guillotine than do a more traditional way of attempting to stop a takedown in hopes of getting a submission victory. In a 2020 interview Poirier admits it doesn't work during actual fights, but he has plenty of success with the move during practice. Poirier believes the move is difficult to achieve in a fight because of blood and sweat impacting a person's grip. He also mentions a fighter's willingness to not give up so easily in a real fight setting makes it that much harder. #ufc #dustinpoirier #shorts
