It started with reaching out to another kid’s mother after an altercation between two kids. Now, one child is dead, and a mother says she tried to warn people there were problems brewing.
Patricia Hawkins, or Patty as she introduces herself, is the mom of 16-year-old Khalil and two other children. Hawkins said her son was jumped and robbed, and then found himself in a fight after school one day.
Early on in the fighting, Hawkins said she reached out to Jaylen Richards’ mom, telling her Richards “threatened my son with a gun.”
