At UFC 178, Yoel Romero faced Tim Kennedy in a bout between Middleweight contenders. But in the closing seconds of round two Romero was rocked by a fleury from Kennedy. The punches opened a cut on Romero's eyebrow that forced the cutman to use vaseline on the injury. The inspector assigned to Romero's corner and referee Big John McCarthy were unhappy with the cutman's work, causing a delay that unintentionally gave Romero time to recover. Moments later, Romero would defeat Kennedy in the third round. UFC President Dana White would explain in the press conference that although mistakes were made, it would be unfair to penalize Romero. #yoelromero #danawhite #shorts #ufc
