WOW is all I can say. I have always wanted to get one of these engines on the channel but I NEVER imagined I would find one blown up in such spectacular fashion. This engine has been previously rebuilt but its days as anything other than scrap, are over.
The 8L Magnum V10 was based on the 5.9L 360ci V8, which is based on the old LA small block Chrysler V8. Coming out for the 1994 model year, the 8.0L V10 made a LOT more power and torque than its Chevrolet and Ford big block competitors. 310hp and 450lb ft of torque made these things a monster in the 90's. This engine is NOT based on the Dodge Viper V10. Dodge continued production of these engines until the 2003 model year.
Why am I doing this? I own and run a full service auto salvage business in the Saint Louis Missouri area, and part of our model includes buying cores and dismantling them to salvage the reusable parts for resale. We do not rebuild engines, merely supply parts to those that do.

I really hope you enjoyed this teardown, it has been one of my favorites so far. As always I appreciate all of the comments, feedback and even the criticism.

Catch you on the next one!
