The idea of killing Kenny every episode only for him to show up in the next episode as if nothing had happened was actually inspired by the MTV cartoon, Aeon Flux. In Aeon Flux, the main character dies at the end of the episodes only to come back in the next episode to die again. Also, Trey and Matt came up with an interesting way to make sure they didn’t imitate celebrity cameos like The Simpsons. They only allowed celebrities if they agreed to voice animals. A few of the exceptions were Jennifer Anniston who voiced Miss Stevens in Rainforest Shmainforest, and for Natasha Henstridge, who voiced Miss Ellen in South Park: Tom's Rhinoplasty. They agreed to Natasha taking the part since they had a crush on her from her role in Species.
